A simple word, but for the achievement of which took years worth of sacrifices by countless souls. To be free from foreign rule. To not be judged or prejudiced against for your colour, caste, and race. To be independent. Such was the vision of our Indian freedom fighters, the fruit, or ‘Amrit’, of which we celebrate every year on 15th of August.
Azaadi ka Amrit:
This year marks the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence Day.With this year marking the ‘diamond’ jubilee of Independence, PM Modi announced a special ‘AzaadiKa Amrit Mahotsav’, under which the prime minister urged the entire nation to hoist the tricolor on the occasion of our Independence Day, to commemorate the efforts and sacrifices of our patriotic ancestors for India.The initiative, also known as “Har Ghar Tiranga” received an enthusiastic response from patriots all over India and proved to be an instant success.

‘Har Ghar Tiranga’:
Since the launch of this campaign, the govt. has also launched a special website https://harghartiranga.com encouraging Indians to share pictures of their ‘Tiranga’ online. Moreover, those wishing to get the national flag can purchase it from post office, or https://www.epostoffice.gov.in at a minimal amount of just Rs. 25, and have a postman deliver it to their homes.
The impact: So far, the initiative has seen an overwhelming response in the country, with approximately a crore households already hoisting the flag proudly. Also, there has been a nationwide bump in the sales of our ‘tiranga’, boosting up to 150%.
